Fold Along: Origami Paper Puzzles

A great wind has flattened the Paper Garden. Every crane, lantern and frog lies flat as a page. Your teacher hands you a square of patterned paper and one instruction: fold it until it remembers what it was.

Fold Along is a calm, clever folding puzzle. Each sheet shows a faint outline. Drag across a dashed crease to fold that side of the paper over, and match the outline in as few folds as you can. Every fold is real: layers stack, paper turns over, and the plain back shows where you folded.

How it plays

• Drag across a crease to fold. Click a crease to fold its smaller side.
• Match the outline to finish. Fold within par for three stars.
• Undo and Reset are always free. Think it through, try again.
• Stuck? A hint shows the next fold of a real solution.

A story in seven gardens

Crane Pond, Lantern Walk, Frog Steps, Maple Bridge, the Tea House, the Moon Gate and the Wind Shrine. Each garden has a keeper with a story, and every keeper knows something about the night the wind came. Who tore the old wind kite open, and why?

210 handmade folds, plus one every day

• Puzzles grow from a single fold to five-fold teasers with diagonals, quarter lines and corner creases.
• Every puzzle was checked by computer so it cannot be solved in fewer folds than par.
• A new Daily Fold every day, with a streak to keep.
• Twelve papers printed with real Japanese katagami stencil designs from the 1800s (The Metropolitan Museum of Art, open collection). Fill your Paper Garden with folded cranes, lanterns, boats and a pagoda.
• No timers, no lives. English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. Plays offline, no account.

Controls (PC)

• Mouse: drag across a dashed crease line to fold; click a crease to fold its smaller side.
• Z or Backspace: undo the last fold.
• Enter: starts a sheet, closes a story card, goes to the next sheet, resumes.
• Esc: back / pause; on the title it asks before quitting.

The itch.io version

• No ads. No in-app purchases. The full game, once.
• Hint (shows the next correct fold) and Rare paper (fold this sheet on a paper you do not own yet) are free buttons on their cooldowns (90 s, 4 min). Three more folds after running out is free once per sheet.
• "Double it" from the mobile version is not in this one.
• A 540x960 window that fits a 1080p screen and can be resized.
