Letterman
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
Four years of high school. Forty days a year. One shot at getting out.
You are a kid with a jumper and a corner, and the two do not like each other. Basketball is the way out, and it is slow. The block pays tonight. Every day you choose which one gets your hours, and by senior year the choice has an answer.
School. Mornings and afternoons are class. Show up and your GPA holds. Skip and it drifts. Under 60 you are suspended from games, unless a coach who trusts you vouches for you. Hit zero and the career is over, whatever your jumper looks like.
The Cage. Pickup runs any day against a live defender. Hold Space to charge a shot, release on time, dunk in the paint. On game nights it is the school team: seven regular games, the rivalry on day 20, a semifinal, and the championship on the last day of the season.
The Block. Buy from the plug at a price that moves every day. Sell on the corner at one that moves with your fame and with the heat on you. Careless flipping loses money; the profit is in reading the swings. Get caught and it escalates: half your roll, then juvenile hall, then the state writes your ending for you.
Recruiters do not wait. Scout interest bleeds every week, harder every year. Keep it up by winning, or buy your way onto the showcase circuit. Buying the whole ladder costs more than a good hustling career clears, which is why "secure the bag" and "get the scholarship" pull against each other.
Six people, and they remember. Coach, Mom, the plug, your best friend, your rival and the scout. 36 story beats and 73 random events move them, and some scenes only happen if a relationship is where it needs to be.

- Plays offline. No account, no login.
The itch.io version
- No ads. No in-app purchases. The full game, once.
- Mouse and keyboard. WASD or arrows to move, E to interact, Space to shoot, F to dunk, Esc to pause.
- The window opens at 1280x720 and can be resized.
This game depicts drug dealing, arrest and juvenile detention as part of its story. Nothing in it is instructional and nothing is glamorised. The corner is a trap with good weeks in it.
