A sorting office at the back of a station, and a queue of people who cannot describe their own umbrella. Hand the right thing to the right person. Refuse the rest.

The office opens and the shelf fills with twenty-odd things nobody meant to leave. Four claimants come to the counter, three lines each, and none of them is much help. "It's black. Or navy. It's the kind that isn't a colour." Find the thing and hand it over, or decide it genuinely is not here and say so. Two or three minutes a day.

  • Refusing correctly pays exactly what handing over correctly pays, because being right about nothing is still being right
  • Handing over the wrong thing costs you twice
  • Four hundred objects, and a description that never quite fits one
  • Nothing is cleared overnight, so what you do not return is still there tomorrow
  • Bags and cases open, and sometimes there is something inside
  • Things come back: the same object, lost again, described worse the second time
  • Whatever has sat long enough goes under the hammer and you take a cut
  • No timer anywhere in the loop

There is no difficulty setting and no ramp. The shelf is the difficulty, and the shelf is whatever you failed to return. By day ten you are turning over forty things looking for a black one, or navy, the kind that isn't a colour.

English and Korean. Plays offline, no account, no energy bar.

Controls (PC)

  • Mouse: click a thing on the shelf to pick it up, then "Hand it over" or "Not here".
  • Esc: back

The itch.io version

  • No ads. No in-app purchases. The full game, once.
  • "Open it" (look inside a bag or case) is a free button here.
  • The mobile version's other video offers (a late window, a second opinion, an auction bump, a quiet word at the back door) are not in this version: free every day, they would take the difficulty out of the shelf.
  • A tall window (540x960) that fits a 1080p screen and can be resized.
