Rap Sheet

This is a text life simulator. You are born, you age one year at a time, and the file gets longer until you die or the sentence outlasts you.

Each year two to four things happen to you and you choose how you answer. Then you act, from a menu that grows as you do: a job, a hustle, a person, a crime. Everything you did that year rolls against the police, and the answer is nothing, a stop, a charge or a warrant.

If you are charged there is a lawyer, a plea, a trial and a sentence, and prison has its own years, its own work and its own parole date. One run is thirty to fifty minutes.

A player who never offends dies old and poor. A player who never stops dies at thirty or does forty years. The sheet you finish with is the reason you start again and try it a different way, and the prose stays flat about all of it. It reads like somebody's file, because that is what it is.

A work of fiction for mature players. Nothing in it teaches a method: substances are generic, violence is outcome, never procedure.
