Reading Room: Tarot Shop Sim

A game. Nobody here can see the future, including you.

Somebody sits down. They tell you one thing about themselves and hide a second one. Three cards go down. You decide, out loud, what they mean, and they pay whatever they thought it was worth.

Reading Room is a tarot shop game about listening. Four clients a day, about thirty-five seconds each. No grid, no clock inside a reading, nothing to click quickly. The only pressure in the room is the person across the table.

What they want is in the first thing they say. "I am not asking about him. I am asking about the flat. Which he is in."

Every card offers you more than one reading. Turn a card and pick the tone. Kind, blunt, or the interesting one. The same card means something different depending on who is sitting there.

Watch their hands. You never see a face. The client is a silhouette and a pair of hands. They open, they fold, they go still while you are still talking. Then they pay what they decided it was worth.

The shop remembers what you said. Every reading you have ever given is written down, and clients come back to it.

Our own deck. Twenty-two cards drawn for this game, with their own names. Nothing is taken from any published deck.

• Korean and English. The Korean was written first. Plays offline, no account, no energy bar.

• Mouse: click a card to turn it, click what you say. Everything is one click.
• Esc: back

The itch.io version

• No ads. No in-app purchases. The full game, once.
• The loan ("Borrow ... against tomorrow") is a free button here. It only shows up when you cannot afford anything.
• The mobile version's other video offers (a candle to redraw a card, reading the room, opening late) are not in this version: free every reading they would be a redraw, a hint and an extra client every day.
• A tall window (540x960) that fits a 1080p screen and can be resized.
